These one day classes run from 10am to 4pm and cover the basic skills needed for water based woodblock printing without a press. The classes are suitable for all levels of experience. The course covers preparing blocks, understanding registration, accurate cutting (including the registration kento or chisel slots), paper preparation, printing and finishing.
These will be intensive study days as there is a lot to learn and the focus will be on gaining skills rather than producing a masterpiece.
The course includes tool hire and all consumables. Students will leave with a practical guide as a reminder of the techniques covered by the course along with your blocks and work.
The tools you use during the day will be available for sale if you want to rush home and carry on printing!
All tools and consumables plus a fact sheet will be provided on the day.
A couple of simple designs will also be provided in case anyone wants to use ready drawn art work.

One day tuition with Laura Boswell 10 - 4pm at the studio behind One Church Street Gallery.
Lunch
Tool hire and all the consumables.
Students take home their blocks, their work and the watercolours at the end of the session.
Students can buy the tools they have been using plus an extra woodblock at the end of the session for £59.50 from Laura Boswell.
